6月8日，国务院新闻办公室举行新闻发布会，国家发展改革委、财政部、商务部等部委及海南省相关负责人介绍《海南自由贸易港建设总体方案》有关情况并答记者问。

中共海南省委书记、海南省人大常委会主任刘赐贵表示，到2030年海南将不再销售燃油汽车。

Liu Cigui, secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Hainan Province, said Hainan will no longer sell petrol cars starting from 2030.

刘赐贵表示，海南自贸港在建设中一定会守住生态的底线，海南的生态环境一定会只能更好，不会变差。

Liu said that Hainan, while building its free trade port, will ensure the protection of its ecological environment, which will only become better, not worse.

刘赐贵表示，在发展上，不管项目有再多的GDP、再多的税收，只要对环境造成影响和破坏的，海南都坚决不要。

Liu pointed out that Hainan steadfastly resists any projects that will threaten the environment, no matter how much GDP and tax revenue they may create.

据刘赐贵介绍，这几年海南采取了一系列的措施，大气质量方面，2017年PM2.5浓度均值每立方米是18微克，2018年是17微克，2019年是16微克，每年下降1个点。海南设定的目标，到2030年，海南的PM2.5是个位数。

According to Liu, Hainan has taken a series of measures on the environment in recent years. The average PM2.5 density in 2017 registered 18μg/m³ and those of 2018 and 2019 were 17 and 16μg/m³ respectively, a drop of one unit per year. Hainan has set a goal to decrease the number to single digits by 2030.

为实现上述目标，海南将采取一系列措施，包括：

To realize this goal, Hainan will take more measures. For example,

全岛将使用清洁能源，成为清洁能源岛；

Clean energy will be used across the island;

到2030年不再销售燃油汽车；

Petrol cars will not be sold from 2030;

实现禁塑，禁止使用不可降解的塑料制品；

Non-degradable plastic products will be banned;

建设2000多公里的LNG的供气管道，2030年基本可实现农村以气代柴等等。

LNG gas pipelines of more than 2,000 kilometers will be constructed, to ensure that firewood will basically be replaced by gas in rural areas by 2030.
